E.Ilett musical theatre

  Disappointingly I am still struggling with the words but a little less than before. I am also struggling with the order of the dance moves and the coordination with dancer .this lesson we introduced girl which I didn’t mind because it was interesting to see other interpretation of the mc . although I am still unsure on a couple of things feel very confident in my girls and my character as an mc . by the final performance next week I am going to carry listening to the song to make sure I know all the parts in the right order and go over it with the dance to ensure it is accurate and my performance is how I want the mc to be portrayed .                             

Wilkomenn (Week 2) In this week’s lessons we learnt the dances for this piece I thought I picked it up reasonably well, I liked that it open to interpretation and we are able to make it our own, in this project I have done some research on the mc (as that is the character we are doing) I have decided that I am going to make quite weird and a bit quirky. I want him to be very close with the audience so they feel welcome but a t the same time be mysteriously distant with them. At this point in time I’m still not completely sure on the spoken words especially the order of in which the little parts go in. My aim is to by next week’s dance lesson I am 100% on them so that I am not hold me back on performing it to the full

Wilkomenn (week 1) Today in lesson I gained an understanding of what this play is all about and the role I will be playing I gained this through the teacher and other students in my class. I started to learn my lines in this lesson to by the end of the week I managed to learn the singing pats of by heart and a brief overview of speaking lines in-between. I need to know the speaking parts off by heart by next week so I can focus on my performance and the dancing that will be added in.

Nothing like a dame South specific In this projects I sang the 2 and 3 lines from the first verse and of course along with the other all / group parts. I liked how it all came together as one performance at the end although we had been working in miniature group when in rehearsals and when deciding who was sing which parts. Www: my facial expression throughout the performance and that I interacted with others in other groups to make sure it felt like one big group not just 3 separate ones . I took on the character of a masculine man on well I thought. I had a variety of focal points throughput the final show. Ebi: I regret not putting my full amount of energy into the final performance

My overall improvements so far   Overall I have become more confident in my abilities as a performer Acting: I have improved on my eye focus and improved on the extent that I have embodied the character I am playing. I have made sure to research my character and to make sure I know the ins and outs of them to really make sure that my performance will be at its best. Singing: I have defiantly improved on my projection in my voice and my ability to control my notes and sustain them for a longer period of time. I have worked on my ability to recognise I am singing a flat or a sharp note. Dance: as I have been going to the dance techniques class I have improved a little on my chore strength in particular and my body awareness as we recently have been doing turns along with hand movements

West side story We had two dance lessons and an acting class for this project as the dance first we learnt the choreography and had a brief over view of what the story of west side story is all about as , we had researched Jerome Robison’s  west side story had come up in some of   the student work when doing our presentations . In our acting class we work on in detail the fight scene and worked on the development of our characters. Www: I picked the choreography for both parts up quickly and too time to practice out of hours. I understood the characters and the situation of our scene – I researched west side story to gain some background knowledge. By the performance date I was ready to perform I understood my character and what I needed to do to make it a good one. I had a plan about my focal points and my head direction throughout.
